A six-part Netflix sea-monster series set in a Newfoundland fishing town. It is at its best early, when the dread builds slowly and Josh Hartnett and Charlie Heaton make the town feel lived in.
Critics split on the back half, which drifts from scares toward mythology, but Below is a smart, atmospheric monster show worth an evening or three.
