Small Prophets
The critic
(4.5 out of 5)★★★★½
Small Prophets is a warm, dry, quietly sad British comedy about a grieving DIY-store clerk who tries to grow prophets in jars. Critics are close to unanimous that Mackenzie Crook has made something funny, fantastical and tender, with Michael Palin a standout.
The pace is slow and the magic is gentle. If you loved Detectorists, start tonight. Four and a half out of five.
