I Play Rocky

Peter Farrelly's account of how Rocky got made lives or dies on Anthony Ippolito's Stallone, and critics agree he is very good. They split on everything around him: some find a warm, rousing crowd-pleaser, others a flat, flattering and sentimental imitation that makes you want to rewatch the original.

A likeable lead and a fascinating true story, told with little risk. Worth it for the performance; less so if you already know the making-of tale.
