The Cycle
The critic
(3 out of 5)★★★☆☆
The Cycle is a patient, well-made creature feature: a cold forensic procedural that spends its first half on a mystery and saves its best material, a set of tactile practical monster effects, for the last stretch.
Deborah Ann Woll anchors it, and the critics who rate it agree on that and on the craft. The script is heavy-handed about fathers and fate, and shaky camera work makes the action hard to follow, so it lands around three out of five. Best for slow-burn fans who prefer rubber to pixels.
