Animal Farm, restored
The critic
(3.5 out of 5)★★★½☆
Britain's first animated feature is back in a 4K restoration, and the critics split: Animal Farm is a handsome, carefully made adaptation of Orwell, and a gentler, cuter one than the book.
Its craft and music win praise, its tone and altered ending lose points, and the CIA story behind it is worth knowing. Three and a half out of five.
