Hunting Matthew Nichols

Hunting Matthew Nichols is a found-footage horror that begins as a very convincing true-crime documentary about two teenagers who vanished in the woods, then loses some of its grip once the story goes in after them.

Critics split between a sleeper hit and a disappointment, and the opening stretch of imitation true crime is the part everyone praises. Best for found-footage faithful who can forgive a last act that does not quite pay it off.
